Forbearance

Patience with another under trying circumstances as used in the new testament, goes along with long suffering referring to God delaying hands bringing punishment for our sins thereby  giving us a space to repent as God is forbearing exhibiting a readiness to forgive and an unwillingness to insist upon ones rights especially when to do might cause another to suffer.

Self Denial

Posted by Sis.Phyllis at 09:09 PM on June 29, 2009 Comments comments (0)
The act of denying ones self, forbearance from gratification of one's desires, self denial is on of the for most attributes which the christian is urged to cultivate taking as the perfect model himself Jesus.     Men ordinarily finds self-denial one of th moswt difficult of the christian graces to attain, since it conflicts with his inclination to seek his own pleasure and comfort before giving thougth to that of his neighbor. Christians maybe called on sometimes to deny themselves of things which are harmless. But which might be misunderstood and cause a weaker person to stumble.

Personal Soul Winning

Golden Text: He that winneth souls is wise. Proverbs11:30

Jesus is our example for witnessing to the lost world. As we all know every where Jesus went he did good,by healing or by teaching, even raising the dead.   We need to take advantage every opportunity to witness about Jesus to the lost sick and discouraged.   Hold up the weak hands, treat your friends and loved ones as though they are already saved, that will do two things make them feel equal and give you the faith that they will be saved. Praise God ask them to pray about things with you,ask about scriptures in the Bible,if they are not right you don't take advice if its wrong but this will give them the encouragement to study the word, plus make them feel part of you and your church. Never make them feel they our beneath you and your church. Always offer to pray for them when they are sick or have a problem.

The Church

When Jesus most alway spent time teaching his disciples spiritual priniciples. The first deacons were called to practical service, but their qualifications were mainly spiritual. Act 6

In the old Testament the qualifications Moses required for men to assist him were also of a spirituat in nature. Also in today's world the first and about all in our walk with God no matter what our work is  to be spiritual above all to seek the kingdom of God,and we all seek the kingdom of God. We must study and learn to know Christ through his word and let him grow in us that other's might see him in us,and gloryfy Jesus.
Matt.5:16
Some people never pickup the word of God or go to church the only time they see or feel Jesus is through you. Don't forget and hide him under a bussel but let Him shine in you first we must come unto him and drink this is done when you come to the Lord. Second he proclaimed "Streams of living water will flow from within.Jesus must flow from within each believer in the form of loving service to others. Sitting at his feet and learning of Him.
1 Peter 4:10
A. employ it discover your gift develop it and put in to use.
B.For one another,Use your gift to serve others in Jesus Name.
C.As good stewards, use your gifts well because one day you will give account to God of how you have used his gifts to you.
D.Of God's varied Grace,Realize that the gift is your's because of God's free and unmerited favor and therefore since you have received it freely you should share it freely with others.
1.God plan for the church centers upon the work of making disciples.2. Jesus depends on his earthly ministry on developing leadership.3. Christ has provided his body with four gifted leader's,Apostles,Prophets,Evangelists,Pastors, teachers,

Answer the following self-analysis questions.
1.What am I comfortable doing?( list your likes and dislikes relating to Christian work)
2. After determining the above choose what you would like to do in the body of Christ, Regardless of how new or different it may seem, put it down.(This maybe a ministry that is not now functioning to your church.)
3. Is it God's will for me to take up the ministry I have described in question 2? Answer the following questions for some indicators.
a. Do I possess the necessary abilties for this ministry? Describe these abilities.
b. What kind of training is necessary?
c. Am I willing to make the sacrifices required in order to receive training and to fulfill this ministry? Describe the sacrificeds which ih maybe necessary for you to make.
d. If your answers to parts a and c are in the affirmative begin to pray.
1.Ask God for that ministry.(Put it on your prayer list)
2.Seek God for that ministry,(Keep your prayer list and keep seeking until God answers)
3.Keep knocking(Bring request before the Lord everyday)
4.If you do all the above, the door will be opened for you.
Note the answer to question 2 may take some time, but at least start by meditating upon your place in Christ's body. The timing as to when that door will open for you must remain in God's hands.

Spiritual War

Posted by Sis.Phyllis at 03:14 PM on March 27, 2009 Comments comments (0)
In the New Testament Jesus speaks of wars and rumors of wars.
Matthew 24:6    Mark 13:7     Luke 21:9
Indicating that these were to be apart of the normal world order. In the pistles adn in Revelation the language of war is used to refer to the struggles and altimate victory of Christians adn teh church under the leadership of Christ himself.
Romans 7:23     1 Cor.10:3-5     Eph.6:10-17

Romans 8:37

The Triumph of Christ

Col 2:15     Eph.2:16-17     Rev 17:14     Rev19:14-15
If everytime we got up in the morning we would realize that this day I will be in a war fare
with the flesh and the devil and reconginize the devil as what he is but we never reconized the devil I don't think we do. How many days do you think Eve strolled by that tree, maybe looked down at her feet at first, then the devil got her attention maybe he never tried at first to get her to sin maybe like this" Nice day today isn't it"? but after a few days getting to know her she trusted him.
