POVERTY OF SPIRIT AND SELF WORTH

Posted by Sis.Phyllis at 01:28 PM on March 19, 2009 Comments comments (0)

This lesson was taught over a 3 week period.

Proverty of Spirit is often misunderstood.

The Misconception at times poverty of spirit has been linked with a feeling of poor self worth. Some Christians are prone to say,"I am nothing,I am nothing" As your faith is so be it. This leads to low self-esteem,negative thinking and guilt or maybe just feeling unworthy of God.

We must feel worthy of God and knowing God can work in us and use us for His Glory.

Romans 8:1   1Peter 1:18-25   1John 3:1-24

A healthy feeling of self worth.

1.We must see ourselves as God sees us,totally cleaned and forgiven.

2.We must understand our worth in God's sight something worth is determined by its price. Jesus paid the highest price for us,His life.

3.We also must realize God loves us totally.

4. He assumed that we should love ourselves since he commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves.   Mark 12:33 The point we need to be selfworthy by feeling self worthy.

1 Corinthians 12    As Paul was trying to explain to us all the gifts are important to the church small or great Christians but we are all one body.

1 Corinthians 12 we must pray as Paul did approach prayer with a totally positive attitude there is nothing that can not be overcome through faith

Mark 9:21-24

Sometimes a prayer is prolonged getting the answer this is so God can work his perfect work.

We must have a positive attitude in God that he will work in us and for us which one is in your life?

Old Nature-New Nature

God's will

1. He has willed spiritual blessings. Matthew 5:6

2. He has willed physical blessings. Ex15:26,Pe.2:24

3. He has willed material blessings. Phil 4:19

4. He has willed that his children be completely victorious over satan. James 4:7, John 4:4

He will always be with us even in the deepest trail. Ps 23:4-5

2 Cor 4:8-9

Hebrew 11 speaks of great men and women of the past who went through struggles to obtain a great faith in God Heb 11:29-35

Hebrew 12 then clearly instructs us to be follows of these examples before us.

So let us run with patience the race that is set before us love one another and love ourselves in a way knowing God can and will use us in a great measure.

ANGELS

The word is used in the Bible to translate the Hebrew and Greek words for "messengers" and usually refrers to an order of supernatural or heavenly beings who act as God's messengers in the early writings of the Old Testament "The Angel of the Lord" denoted an appearance of God in human form. The scriptures picture God as being attended by a heavenly host of Angels who serce as intermediaries between God and man, bringing God's revelation and assistance and acting as intercessors for men.

WHAT WE DON'T USE WE LOOSE

1 John Chapter 4

2 Tim. Chapter 1

we all have the fruits of the spirit but if we put them on a shelve to get dusty and not use thme. Then they are vain. Everyday we should make sure we think on them and use them in our life.

See yourself not in your eyes but in Gods eyes,God loves us and sometimes we can be a little hard on ourselves and of course we can also be to easy on ourselves. This lesson is just a reminder of what you really have in God. Don't waste a day use what you have in God everyday.
